2017 Plan For NMAP

To state the obvious, the political climate in Washington has changed dramatically. What does it mean for the National Museum of the American People? We don't know yet, but we plan to find out when the new Congress and the new Administration begin in January.

We will move on two tracks in the new year. One is to gain bipartisan Congressional support. The other is to seek backers with the resources to move this project forward.

We believe that the NMAP, telling every group's story about becoming Americans, can help serve as a vehicle for national unity. While we Americans have come from every corner of the world, Europe, Africa, Asia Pacific and the Americas, we need the NMAP to embody our original national motto: E Pluribus Unum - From Many, One!

We will be calling on you for assistance and will keep you apprised of our progress.

Now, more than ever, we need the National Museum of the American People to remind everyone that we are all Americans.

Best regards,

Sam Eskenazi
Director, Coalition for the National Museum of the American People
